Qiuqiong Huang is a Chinese native. She received a B.A. in food science from Remin University of China. She earned her Ph.D. from the University of California, Davis in agricultural and resource economics with an emphasis on environment and resource economics and development economics. Prior to joining the University of Arkansas, she was first an assistant professor and then an associate professor at the University of Minnesota. She has taught courses in microeconomics, econometrics, and resource economics. Her publications have appeared in Agricultural Water Management, American Journal of Agricultural Economics, Australian Journal of Agricultural and Resource Economics, Ecological Economics, Environment and Development Economics, Food Policy, Journal of Economic Behavior and Organization, Journal of Environmental Economics and Management, Journal of Hydrology, Journal of Productivity Analysis and Water Resources Research.
Dr. Huang’s areas of research include natural resource economics (with an emphasis on water and land) and development issues including education, migration and labor market outcomes. Her current research projects include water resource management in north China, irrigated agriculture in Arkansas and the impact of cognitive and non-cognitive skills on labor market outcomes.
